Our Social Media Comments Policy

Members of the public are welcome to post comments, pictures and videos on our Cardiff Bay social media accounts, however, please be aware that your contributions are public and available to anybody visiting our accounts.

Comments and replies on our social media accounts reflect the views of the person submitting them, and do not reflect Cardiff Harbour Authority (CHA) policy.

Anything posted on our social media accounts or replies to our posts are also subject to the policies of the host provider, eg Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

To protect your privacy, and the privacy of others, do not include personal or confidential information in your comments or responses – unless we request these directly via private or direct messages.

Comments and replies on our social media accounts are not moderated prior to posting, however we reserve the right to remove any material that:

• poses a security or privacy risk.
• contains confidential information about yourself, or somebody else.
• refers to CHA employees by name.
• is considered spam or commercial advertising.
• is unlawful, harassing, abusive or threatening.
• is obscene, sexually suggestive or contains swearing.
• is racist, homophobic, ageist, sexist or perceived to be offensive to any group of individuals.
• is an infringement of intellectual property or copyright law.
• is in any other way deemed to be offensive or inappropriate for this page.

Repeated violation of these rules will result in your account being blocked from our social media accounts. In serious cases, we may report posts to the police.

Comments you make on social media will not affect or influence the service you receive from CHA.

CHA does not endorse or take responsibility for any material that may be reached through links posted on our social media accounts. When you follow a link, please note that you are leaving CHA accounts. CHA may share information about community groups on social media if it is appropriate to our audience and in keeping with the purpose of the account.

CHA does not guarantee that any information posted by individuals on our social media accounts is correct and disclaims any liability for any loss or damage resulting from reliance on this information.

Only CHA employees acting in their official capacity are authorised to administer our social media accounts.

CHA reserves the right to remove the comments function at any time if it is being abused.
