Cardiff Yacht Club hosts its annual Regatta in July, providing an opportunity for visitors to admire a host of colourful boats of all shapes and sizes in Cardiff Bay.

Fishing in the Bay

Cardiff Bay Barrage

Cardiff Bay celebrates National Fishing Week with an opportunity to get hooked on the UK’s biggest participation sport! This two day event is open to fishing enthusiasts of all ages and levels to experience fishing off Cardiff Bay Barrage. The event will promote game, course and sea fishing, with expert tuition and demonstrations.

Home Nations Rowing Championships

26 July

 
Cardiff Bay Barrage, Inner Harbour

The Home Nations Rowing Championship is being hosted in Cardiff Bay, in association with Welsh Amateur Rowing Association. Adrenalin fuelled races will take place on the Bay using the 1500 metre multi lane course that stretches from the Barrage to the Inner Harbour.
 
   

 

WOW on the Waterfront

Experience the best of Europe’s street theatre in an exciting family show of colour and light, featuring lots of entertaining and unusual characters!

Acclaimed French theatre company Malabar will provide the WOW on the Waterfront glitz. This year is a fantastic voyage through Cardiff Bay. A giant ship of dreams will set sail with a crew of stiltwalkers, musicians and aerialists. Docking at Roald Dahl Plass, the show will reach a breathtaking climax with aerial performance, pyrotechnics and an ocean of foam!, and this year’s event promises an event like you have never seen before.

BUPA Great Welsh Run

Classic Car & Motorboat Rally

Boats will be on display all weekend with many taking to the waters of Cardiff Bay for demonstrations and displays. Classic Cars will join the display on the Sunday, inviting the public to come along to meet car owners and enthusiasts and join them in this celebration of motoring!

European Cup Final Water Ski Race

Water Skiing is an increasingly popular sport and Cardiff Bay provides the perfect backdrop to experience the thrill of a series of races. With a traditional, festive atmosphere Cardiff Bay offers something for everyone this winter. Why not wrap up warm and take in the views of Cardiff’s skyline as you walk across the Barrage, or visit the Inner Harbour where the choice of festive treats is endless.

The Waterfront Partners (including Cardiff Harbour Authority, Craft in the Bay, Mermaid Quay, the Red Dragon Centre and Techniquest) are teaming up to ensure there are a mass of Christmas Workshops and Carol Concerts, as well as Annual Christmas Market at the Norwegian Church.
